Embrace your own adventure to the Wet Mountain Valley and Custer County Colorado! You will fall in love with this community!

The Wet Mountain Valley in Colorado is truly captivating. When we were considering a transition away from the urban Texas life we knew we wanted to find a small community with mild weather and surroundings that would draw us outdoors, and we found it.

The moment we set foot in this picturesque valley; we knew it was the perfect place to call home. The valley is nestled between the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains and the enchanting Wet Mountains, creating a breathtaking backdrop that never fails to leave us in awe. Owning our own mountain home, establishing a business, and being connected to this community has been a dream come true.

It was not difficult to find the perfect mountain home that allowed us to wake up every morning to the sight of snow-capped peaks and lush green meadows. It is an experience like no other because the valley’s natural beauty is truly unparalleled, and it serves as a constant reminder of the wonders of nature.

We continued in our Real Estate careers by purchasing United County, Wapiti Ranch Realty and Auction, LLC.  Being partnered with the nation’s leading sellers of land and mountain homes was a no-brainer.  Having United Country’s expert team supporting our business makes it easy to promote the many properties available to build dreams upon.

Living in the Wet Mountain Valley has allowed us to connect deeply with the community of Westcliffe. Wade and I always valued church life and community events. Being in Texas’s metropolitan areas made it easy to get lost in the shuffle of activity. We have discovered that this area provides abundant opportunities to participate in those same activities on a smaller, more purposeful scale.  Also, as active members of the area’s tourism board, we are excited to bring visitors to the area so they too can experience the connectedness of this delightful community, and maybe even call it home some day.

One of our favorite things about owning a mountain home here is the way it draws us to be outdoors both day and night, 4 seasons of the year.  Though the weather can be unpredictable at times, with snowstorms and chilly temperatures during the winter months, these challenges are far outweighed by the rewards of living in such a breathtaking location with its abundant activities.
