Wade Pettis, MBA Owner/Broker Associate, Realtor

Wade was born in Beaumont, Texas, just east of Houston, where his parents still reside. He graduated from Texas State Technical College with a Building Construction Degree. In 1997, Wade moved to Dallas where he was a home builder then was promoted to New Home Sales Manager with Centex Homes. In 1998, he relocated to Fort Collins, where he joined Coldwell Banker selling both new homes & resale properties. He lived in Boulder County until 2005, then moved back to Beaumont where he obtained a Master’s Degree from Lamar University in Business Administration. In 2011, Wade moved to Dallas where he worked as Senior Care Asset Property Manager for Capital Senior Living. After marrying Jackie, they decided to begin searching for opportunities in Colorado as they have a deep love for the mountains. Since Wade enjoyed the Real Estate business, they both decided the purchase of Wapiti Ranch Realty & Auction, LLC. Wade is particularly excited about the Dark Skies of the Wet Mountain Valley and ability to view the Milky Way. Like Jackie, Wade enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, biking and playing golf. They both are on the Custer County Tourism Board. They are looking forward to building long term relationships in and around Custer County and assisting the local community.

Jackie Shepherd-Pettis Owner/Managing Broker

Born & raised in Dayton, Ohio, Jackie is one of eleven children. Both of her parents sold Real Estate in Southwest Ohio then moved to Austin, Texas in 1984, where they built a successful Real Estate business. Jackie graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a Degree in Commercial Art. In Austin, she began her career as a Restaurant Manager with Macaroni Grill. In 1994, she relocated to Dallas where she began a 20 year career as a Commercial Property Manager for Jones Lang LaSalle & Lincoln Property Company. In 2015 she met Wade Pettis and they married in 2017. Between them they have 3 grown sons, with 2 in college and 1 in the Army. They have always loved Colorado and have a passion for the Real Estate business, so they decided to move here to start a new life with the purchase of Wapiti Ranch Realty & Auction, LLC. Jackie enjoys the outdoors and doing activities such as hiking in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, skiing, fishing and playing golf. Her talent for art remains with her so she looks forward to painting in her off season. Wade & Jackie are eager to add value to the Custer County Community while becoming long term Real Estate Agents in Westcliffe, Colorado.

John Wall Auctioneer

John was born and raised in St. Louis, MO., and brings a diverse background to his new Real Estate career.  John has been a U.S. Army trained Combat Medic, a Chef, a published poet, singer and songwriter, a Veterinary Large Animal Surgeon, a Historic Building Restoration Specialist, and lifelong builder of residential homes. 

John moved to Colorado in 2011 and began a lifestyle change toward off-grid living.  He settled in the San Luis Valley in Central Colorado in 2012.  Embracing a new lifestyle of prioritizing nature came with a steep learning curve. Fulfilling his desire to teach and share with others, John has taught Permaculture design courses, soil-building classes, and alternative construction seminars. He has done all this while building Earth Battery greenhouses, 7 new residential homes, and competing his own “project” house.

John gained his Real Estate license and joined United Country Wapiti Ranch Realty & Auction shortly after meeting owners Jackie and Wade.  His first course of action was to attend the World Wide College of Auctioneering and begin developing Auction Services for Wapiti Ranch Realty & Auction.  John is specializing in Auctions, Farm and Ranch properties as well as other niche real estate markets.
